Simplicity in blue and white

Love this gorgeously simple afternoon tea. Head outdoors with a set of white plates and some salvaged classic blue and white patterned pieces to create a stylish alfresco high tea. Images by via mylifemyloves.

Popcorn roll up

Popcorn is perfect party food. If air-popped and very lightly salted, it's a healthier option for children's parties. Make your popcorn treats look spectacular with your own hand-printed brown paper bags like these from lovelyliving or track down some red and white striped bags such as these found at pisforparty for a real vintage circus feel.

Green gingham

What a pretty, summery table Sasha from Everything Fabulous has created with a simple green gingham runner, some tall green glasses, a string of white paper lanterns and a few white pots of colour - perfectly pretty!

A sprig in thyme

Simple sprigs of rosemary, thyme or lavender delicately cut and tied around a white napkin creates a beautiful, fragrant setting. Image via everythingfab.

Rustic chic

One of the nicest pieces of styling I have seen.. just love the retro colours...reminds me of dad's old ties from the 1970's (that he still has!) The combination of the thin brown stripes on the runner and the rustic hessian-coloured napkins with bold navy type eludes warmth and chic...love it! Image by Martha Stewart via everythingfab.

DIY: Hanging Pom Poms

How to Make these Beautiful Martha Stewart-Inspired Hanging Pom-Poms

DIY Materials:
You'll need tissue paper and floral or garden wire (easy to find in craft or garden stores).

DIY Steps:
1. Stack eight sheets of tissue paper 50cm x 70cm (standard sheet size). Accordian fold the stacked sheets into 3.5cm wide folds, creasing well.
2. Fold a 30cm long piece of floral wire in half, and slip over center of folded tissue, then twist to secure.
3. Using scissors, trim the tissue ends into round or triangular shapes.
3. Finally, separate each layer by slowly pulling each one away from the centre, until your pom pom is puffy.
4. Tie a length of string (clear string looks great) to floral wire and hang securely in place.

Cute as can bee

Sweet honey bee themed party created by scissors.paper.cake and hello Naomi, a fellow Newcastle resident. I just adore the party styling that Naomi and business partner Nathalie achieve together..their themes are just divine, spilling over with creativity and style.
